Locaro respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when using the app.
Locaro is a location-based personal memory app. In the current MVP version, creating a new memory requires access to your device’s current location. Locaro does not currently support manual location selection.
By using Locaro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Data We Collect
Location Data
We collect your location data only when you actively use the app and grant location permission.
This data is used to:
- create a memory tied to your current location
- display your recorded memory points on the map
- support core location-based app features
Because the current MVP version does not support manually selecting a place, location permission is required to create a new memory.
Memory Content
When you create a memory, we may collect and store the text you write, the photo you upload if any, the time and date associated with the memory, and the location linked to that memory.
Profile Information
We may collect basic profile information shown in the app, such as your avatar and nickname. In the current version, profile editing may not be supported.
Device Information
We may collect limited device-related information necessary to operate and improve the app, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and basic diagnostic data.
Usage Data
We may collect information about how you use Locaro, such as app interactions, feature usage, crash logs, and performance data. This helps us improve app stability and user experience.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain Locaro’s core features
- To create and display location-based memories
- To save and organize your memory content
- To improve app performance, reliability, and usability
- To respond to support requests and inquiries

Location Permission
Locaro requires location permission for creating new memories.
If you do not grant location access:
- you may still be able to view existing memories and other parts of the app
- you will not be able to create a new memory
Locaro currently uses your current location only for in-app memory creation and related map display features. Manual pin placement is not supported in this version.
How We Share Your Data
Locaro does not currently provide social sharing features in the MVP version.
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data only in the following situations:
- with service providers who help us operate the app, such as hosting, storage, analytics, or crash reporting providers
- when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- to protect the rights, safety, and security of Locaro, our users, or others
Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the app and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, and withdraw permissions such as location access through your device settings.
Please note that disabling location access will prevent you from creating new memories in the current version of Locaro.
Children’s Privacy
Locaro is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction without parental or guardian consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
Locaro may rely on third-party services such as map providers, cloud storage providers, analytics tools, or crash reporting tools. These services may process data as necessary to provide their functionality.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Locaro after an update means you accept the revised policy.
